NOVEMBER 3, 2026 GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
A General Municipal Election in the City of Rolling Hills Estates will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 to elect two (2) Members of the City Council. This election will be consolidated with the Statewide General Election. NOMINATION PERIOD FOR CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES
The nomination period for candidates will begin on Monday, July 13 and will close on Friday, August 7, at 4:30 p.m.
During the nomination period, election manuals will be available from the City Clerk’s Office. To allow ample time with each candidate, an appointment is required to pick up as well as return one’s candidate nomination papers. Please allow up to an hour for each appointment. All registered voters will be mailed a Vote-by-Mail ballot for the November 4, 2025 Statewide Special Election. The County will begin mailing Vote-by-Mail ballots 29 days prior to Election Day (October 2).
There are multiple ways to return/submit your Vote-by-Mail ballot:
- In person at any Vote-by-Mail drop box location, including the box located in the RHE City Hall parking lot.
- At any Vote Center in L.A. County
- By mail, remember no postage is necessary (If your ballot is postmarked by Election Day and received within 17 days by the County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk, it will be processed, verified and counted.)

RESOLUTION CANCELING THE NOVEMBER 5, 2024 GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
On August 20, 2024, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2586 canceling the November 5, 2024 election and appointing Velveth Schmitz, Debby Stegura and Frank Zerunyan each to four-year terms of office as Council Members.

HISTORICAL GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION RESULTS:
2022
A General Municipal Election was to be held in the City of Rolling Hills Estates on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 to elect two Members of the City Council. This election was to be consolidated with the Statewide General Election, however as of the close of the nomination period on August 17, 2022 there were no more candidates than offices to be elected.
At the August 23, 2022 meeting of the City Council, the City Council canceled the November 8, 2022 election and appointed Pam Brown Schachter and Britt Huff to the City Council. Council Members Pam Brown Schachter and Britt Huff were sworn into office at the first meeting in December.
2020
A General Municipal Election was held in the City of Rolling Hills Estates on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 to elect three Members of the City Council and vote on a ballot measure. This election was consolidated with the Statewide Direct Primary Election. The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder County Clerk canvassed the returns and provided the results to the City Clerk for certification to the City Council.
At the December 8, 2020 meeting of the City Council, the City Clerk presented the official Certificate of Canvass of the Election Returns to the City Council and the City Council adopted a resolution declaring the results. Council Members Frank Zerunyan, Velveth Schmitz and Debby Stegura were then sworn into office.
2018
A General Municipal Election was held in the City of Rolling Hills Estates on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 to elect two Members of the City Council and vote on a ballot measure. This election was consolidated with the Statewide Direct Primary Election. The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder County Clerk canvassed the returns and provided the results to the City Clerk for certification to the City Council.
At the July 10, 2018 meeting of the City Council, the City Clerk presented the official Certificate of Canvass of the Election Returns to the City Council and the City Council adopted a resolution declaring the results. Council Member Britt Huff and Councilmember Steve Zuckerman were then sworn in to a second term of office.
