The City of Rolling Hills Estates in partnership with Waste Management, South Bay Environmental Services Center, is hosting an Earth Day Celebration on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at City Hall.
This year’s event will feature a variety of family-friendly activities, including a scavenger hunt, hands-on crafts, giveaways, and the opportunity to meet 4-H Club animals up close. Attendees can also connect with local environmental organizations and learn more about sustainability efforts happening in our community.
♻️ Free Drive-Thru Shredding (RHE Residents & Businesses Only)♻️
Shredding will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and will end once the truck reaches capacity. Event staff are unable to accept or transport materials.
Each household or business may bring up to three (3) banker-sized boxes of documents.
Accepted: Confidential documents (white or colored paper), file folders, staples, paperclips, envelopes, and cardboard
Not accepted: CDs, hard drives, cell phones, 3-ring binders, metal objects, plastics, glass, plastic bags, food waste, batteries, or weapons

• Enter City Hall from Crenshaw Boulevard
• Follow signage to the shredding truck (upper parking lot)
• Exit onto Palos Verdes Drive North
• On-site parking is available, with overflow parking nearby at Academy Center
Please follow posted signage and staff directions to help ensure a smooth and safe experience for all participants.
